What is a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner?
A Senior AME has additional FAA authorization beyond a standard AME — including the ability to perform Class I exams for Airline Transport Pilots. Senior AMEs typically have more experience with complex cases, which means fewer deferrals and faster approvals.
Do I need to complete MedXPress before my appointment?
Yes. You must complete the FAA MedXPress application at medxpress.faa.gov before your visit and bring your confirmation number. We cannot begin your exam without it.
Is the EKG and color vision test included in the price?
Yes — color vision testing using the Waggoner computerized system and EKG if needed are included in our exam price at no extra charge. Many AMEs bill these separately. You get everything in one visit.

I have a medical condition — can I still fly?

Do you perform ATC employee exams?
Yes. Both Dr. Zaid and Dr. Shively are certified Employee Examiners for Air Traffic Controllers. These exams are typically billed to your employer.
